Skills Of Charity Africa (SOCA) is a registered
501(c)(3) nonprofit community based organization located in Wakiso. It was
founded by Sserugo Eria in 2017 aiming to solve the community’s problems
of unemployment and lack of access to education .
We help orphans,Street
children,refugees,widows,single-mothers and school dropouts due to lack of
school fees.Through skilling projects like tailoring, Vaseline making, welding,hair
dressing and soap making,among others.We give education,shelter,food and
medication to these abandoned children.Because we know what it means not to
have a family,So we support them using donations and funds from our hand made
products like bags,clothes,crafts etc which we sell to our local markets and
abroad.
Our Objectives
The objectives of the organisation are:-
(1) To collaborate with other organizations with similar
objectives both within and outside Uganda to achieve these objectives
(2) To help our communities learn how to save for the future
and also create theconducive environment in next generation
(3) To mobilize and sensitize the masses about poverty
eradication through self- iniated projects that is to say, Carpentry,
Tailoring. Making Cosmetics, Hair Dressings and Cuts, Metal Fabrication,
Farming and Animal Rearing. DevelopingTalents forexample Football, Volley ball,
Basket ball, Netball etc.
(4) For the creation of Jobs within our communities through
laid down projects to reduceon the persisting rampant joblessness
(5) To organise, plant, foster and carry seminars, schools,
colleagues, institutes with the purpose of conducting, training people
connected with SOCA in sound academic, classical, scientific general education
of the highest order and further to provide training in basic economic
regarding self sustainable economies to interested parties to purpose such in
their localities, homes and the nation.
(6) To train men, women and youth, equip, instruct, nature,
advise, oversee, encouage. teach and raise people to be of sound national
character reliable, responsible, Resourceful, efficient and productive citizens
by leading them to be self reliant, cooperative amongst people themselves and
other nationality.
(7) To build the individual potential of members enabling
them to take their place in society in general and in their local community and
national and global perspectives in particular by providing for the delivery,
and holding of seminars, exhibitions, lectures, Public Meetings, Classes,
Conferences, Conventions, calculating directly or indirectly to advise the self
sustainable economy perspective and the courseof the national, regional and
global economic trend
(8) To foster and strengthen the development and
emancipation of women and growth viawomen and youth forums
(9) To create a working relationship between the members and
the relevant ministries and development associations in Uganda.
(10) To fight HIV/AIDS, through organising seminars,
visiting the victims, condom distribu tion, and couselling among others. We
shall take the iniative to fight any epidermic disease, which is not in the
line with AIDS/HIV in order to safeguard the lives of our community members.
CAMPAIGNS
1.Skills Training ( Tailoring)
We offer training in Tailoring with the aim of helping
people acquire skills through which they can earn money and
take good care of their families. Kindly
